House in the Prado
Apr 09, 2012 // Dream Homes //

The third intervention in this house almost took 10 years to the interior designer, Maurice Padovani, who was able to gradually restructure the remains and will adapt to changes and family needs.

The children were grown, the floor was again transformed with the creation of a new room under the mezzanine, which is accessed by one of the key pieces of the house, the staircase consists of a single sheet Crude steel bent that was moved for the occasion. Kind of thread for this intervention, OSB bleached, used for the wall adjoining the staircase, is also found in several pieces designed for the occasion by Maurice Padovani as the library of the show, cabinets children’s rooms and all the furniture in the room.

On the ground floor the kitchen, consisting of two parallel blocks painted white with contemporary lines, contrasting with the warm and refined design that gives pride to white and raw materials, including wood and steel. In this light-filled space, the furniture industry (Jieldé lamps, Roneo furniture types, transport pallets converted into coffee tables, etc.) are mixed with iconic pieces of design from which it will recognize the chairs by Vitra RAR Eames, of the AA Airborne in its leather and steel and the famous supsension Zettel’z of Ingo Maurer which is also upstairs.

Got something to say? Go for it!
