4 Ways To Add Colour Without Painting
Mar 02, 2018 // Interior Decoration //

Whether you do not want to paint your walls, do not have the time to, or live in a rented place prohibiting you from painting your wall, you may still wish to add colour. This, of course, might seem a little more difficult if you cannot paint your walls. However, this is only at first glance. There are quite a few easy ways to add colour without painting. Ready to get creative? Let’s go!

Bring In Flowers

There are countless types of flowers out there in all shapes, sizes, and colours. Whether you want to have flowers in a pot with soil and continue growing them, or have cut flowers in a vase with water, they remain a great way to bring bursts of colour into the room. You can also change the flowers in a vase easily, or mix and match in the same vase, which makes for even more colour flexibility.

Use Throw Pillows

Throw pillows seem to have little function, initially, though it is worth pointing out you can still use them like a regular pillow if you wanted to lie on your couch. That said, they are perfect ways to let colour pop in your home without permanently altering your walls. You can even store some pillows away and change them based on the holiday or season—themed decoration with little effort!

Create An Art Wall

Hanging artwork is a great way to decorate a room. Sure, you could add neutral tones this way, but colourful paintings are ideal if you have neutral walls and do not want to paint them to anything else. A good tip here is to try out some multiple paneled art, which will take up more space on your walls and introduces the potential for adding more than one colour.

Put A Rug Down

Have hardwood or tiled flooring? Put down an area rug in any colour or pattern you choose to not only infuse colour into your room, but also increase its coziness.
