3 Tips For Using Your Dishwasher
Oct 12, 2018 // Home //

Do you have a dishwasher in your home? If so, you are very lucky! Getting your dishes clean will be much easier, since dishwashers help reduce the amount of dishes you have to do by hand. In any case, here are some effective tips on using a dishwasher to its full effectiveness:

Clean With Vinegar Wash

Even though you are running water and dish detergent in your dishwasher on a regular basis, you still need to clean and refresh this appliance—you are dealing with food particles after all! This is where vinegar is the perfect solution. Just fill a small dish with white vinegar, and run a short cycle of the dishwasher with this dish on the top rack (and nothing else in there). This will help get rid of any debris, clean the filters, et cetera.

Only Run Full Loads

Do you want to get the most out of your dishwasher? Then only run full loads! You can, of course, still clean dishes in a half load, but you will have to run more cycles to get the same amount done, and this means you are using a lot more energy. Load your dishwasher effectively (develop a good system based on your specific model) and you will thank yourself. The dishwasher is meant to hold and clean a full load, so let it!

Rinse First

If you have a good dishwasher, you can likely skip rinsing them and still come out with clean dishes. However, not rinsing your dishes can also clog parts of your dishwasher faster, resulting in unpleasant smells down the line, and even a reduced effectiveness at some point if you let it continue for long. This is why we suggest giving every dish a quick rinse before loading the dishwasher. You don’t need to clean them completely, obviously, but getting rid of the bulk or bigger food particles will still help.
