3 Tips For Natural Cleaning
Sep 07, 2018 // Home //

Living in a clean home is a great feeling. Everything is organized, you don’t have to deal with flies…life is good! But sometimes cleaning with commercial choices (e.g. commercial all purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, oven cleaner, et cetera) can be difficult to deal with. Commercial cleaners are usually chock full of chemicals. While many people can get away with using them, others may not be able to because of skin or allergy reactions, children in the home, or simply a desire to avoid chemicals as much as possible. Regardless, here are three tips when it comes to natural cleaning:

Make Baking Soda Paste

Baking soda is amazing when it comes to natural cleaning methods. You can make a simple paste with baking soda and water and use that to clean many things, including the inside of your oven! The key when using the baking soda paste is to let it dry before scrubbing it off. This helps ensure it penetrates as much grime as possible and you come away with the best cleaning job.

Clean Dishwasher With Vinegar

Ever noticed a musty odour coming from your dishwasher? Is it not cleaning your dishes as well as you would like? Both of these mean you need to clean your dishwasher! The easiest and perhaps the most effective way to do this is to fill a glass dish with plain white vinegar. Then, put that on the top rack of your dishwasher and run a cycle without any other dishes. Once you run the vinegar through a regular cycle, you should be good to go! If you find you have a particularly stubborn dishwasher, you might need to do this twice, but this only happens in extreme circumstances.

All-Purpose Citrus and Vinegar

Want to replace your all purpose cleaner as well as glass cleaner? Just infuse citrus peels, such as lemon peel, in some white vinegar for a couple days. Then you can put this mix into a spray bottle and clean as you would with any other cleaner! Some even use larger quantities of this mix to wash their floors.

Got something to say? Go for it!
