3 Tips For Cleaning Your Closet
Sep 28, 2018 // Home //

Do you find you have too much stuff, clothes and otherwise, in your closet? Having trouble finding what you are looking for? Need to clean things up, even just a little bit? You have come to the right place! Cleaning your closet will help organize your clothing and other items like suitcases, shoes, and accessories. Here are some tips to help you clean your closet and organize your room better:

Take An Inventory

The first thing you need to do is take an inventory of everything in your closet. You don’t need to be 100% accurate, but it helps to have a decent idea of everything you have. Ideally, you should take everything out of your closet and place the stuff on your bed. However, you can always just take a visual inventory. Regardless, this will help you figure out what stuff you might be able to afford to throw out, where the biggest clutter issue is, et cetera.

Be Honest With Yourself

When you are getting rid of things from your closet, this is the only way to truly clean your closet after all, you need to be honest. What clothes do you actually plan on wearing? What clothes have you not worn in a long time (e.g. years)? If you really are not going to wear something, you should get rid of it. It might be tempting to say “but I could wear it,” though you should be wary of this thought, since it can occur quite often and result in your not getting rid of anything.

One Step At A Time

Sometimes getting rid of a lot of the clothing in your closet can be overwhelming. This is okay! You are allowed to feel a little overwhelmed, especially if you are cleaning your closet in a major way. With this in mind, you should try to take things one step at a time when cleaning your closet. If you need to take a break, even just for five or ten minutes, do it! If you need to return to your closet the next day, that’s fine as well. Just remember to return!

Got something to say? Go for it!
